Your music is unique and deserves to be heard at its best.
Mastering is the final step between what is created in the studio and what is heard by the consumer. The most important role of mastering is to optimize audio recordings for all playback systems and distribution platforms.
This usually involves preparing and transferring audio from a digital or analog source to a digital file that will become the “master” from which all copies are made. It is the Mastering Engineer’s responsibility to balance the sonic elements of an audio recording. In the case of multiple recordings, the Mastering Engineer should create uniformity and consistency of sound across all of them while maintaining or enhancing the sonic characteristics of each recording.
To achieve this goal, a Mastering Engineer may use analog and digital equalization, dynamic range manipulation (compression, expansion, and limiting), stereo imaging, and audio restoration tools. To find out more about getting your music mastered by The LA Recordist, click the link below.
